Laminated Glass (Safety)

Cat-i Glass provides custom laminated glass that is comprised of various layers of glass bonded typically with EVA or PVB plastic.  Desirable characteristics include safety, sound reduction and vandal resistance.

Laminated glass is made by sandwiching a binding layer of plastic between two or more sheets of glass. It is often called safety glass because when laminated glass breaks, glass fragments remain in place. Laminated glass is available as clear or colored by changing the inner layer.

The layering aspect of laminated glass gives it another positive quality. It blocks more noise than a single glass pane of the same thickness. As a result, it is often the class of choice for when sound dampening is desired.

Pyroceramics (Schott Robax)

Pyroceramics have extremely low thermal expansion rates that leave it unaffected by high temperatures or major temperature shifts.  It is typically used as a window for room fireplaces, stoves, and cooktop surfaces.
